X7430 [Stamp: ORIGINAL] TO C [struck through] FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/M11.3.27. Copy to --- HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} PHANTOM 'D' STEERING. X-7430 [handwritten over text] We agree that neither EAC. 7. or 8. will give a 'D' steering with a shorter leg reach. We can set out a steering wheel 1½" nearer the dash, moved horizontally, carrying the seat with it. Have we a car we can put it on? It should be a Phantom with a sheet metal dash as a revised column angle would mean modifying a cast dash. It will be necessary to enable the test to give true results to get a coachbuilder to move the cushion forward and re-squab the seat. Would HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and C. kindly tell us what car they can suggest, and we will instruct the steering? DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
