----------------

With regard to your request that we should deal with this question, having in mind the experience we have had in servicing some of these first 15, our suggestions for modifications are as follows :-

(1) New Pistons with Floating Gudgeon Pins.
(2) Silencers to be modified as follows :-
(a) Sliding Joint to middle expansion box.
(b) Spring suspension replacing rubber blocks.
(c) Improved support to inner pipe of rear silencer.

With regard to (a) at least two of the Trials Cars have had to be attended to away from the Works by welding fractures in the expansion box. With regard to (c) we had B.15.AE Trials Car in yesterday, the inner pipe referred to having come adrift.

X (3) Radiator to be changed to centre mounting.
(4) Needle type Universal Joints to propellor shaft.
(5) Reduced driving and damping load to clutch spring drive.
(6) Servo - lubrication of centre bearing to be modified to hand lubricated type.
(7) Remote vent scheme to petrol tank.
Although this job is being dealt with by sending new petrol tanks to 'N', it is intended that Cars in the provinces should be dealt with at the Works. We carried out this modification on B.15.AE at the Works yesterday, and we shall also be dealing similarly with B.7.AE.
(8) Improved type fan.
(9) Jacking Pads to rear springs.

We consider the foregoing are the essential items. There are others which we take it that it is not intended to change, such as Crankshaft with 12 bolt fixing to flywheel, improved starter motor, etc.
