| -5- Minute No. 19. Exhaust System Suspension. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} said that certain modifications are required to the suspension of the Exhaust System and he and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} will examine the car which is now on its way back from France on arrival. Hancock reports that some of the rubber suspension pieces have perished. 20. Allocation of Cars. The allocation of the cars which are required for exhibition and trials purposes was talked over and Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} said that – 3 cars are required for running trials 3 " " " " Olympia Show 3 " " " " Show Room. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} promised to let Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} know which 3 cars are to be used for running trials and he will arrange for them to receive preference as regards the modifications which affect the running; the remaining 6 will be modified firstly from an appearance point of view and as much of the other work necessary will be done in the time available. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} was asked to give dates when we may expect each car to be returned to Derby. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} instructed that when these cars are returned to Derby all work should be carried out in A.2. Shop adjoining the Pattern Shop. 21. Oil. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said that Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} had requested that Vacuum oil be standardised for use on Bentley car. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} reported that Mobiloil 'B' had given satisfactory results on running in France. The whole question of brands of oil that can be used and are recommended can be discussed when C. comes to Derby next week. 22. Next Conference. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} suggested that C. should come to Derby on Monday next to discuss questions referring to the Bentley chassis and that Bm. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} and anyone else C. thinks should be present be invited. | ||
