-2- "There are such matters as lubricants recommended and lubricants generally, tires, batteries, accessories, service stations, differences in language, winter running, -----" "I am proposing to issue a supplementary instruction book covering all coachwork matters -----" Later: "I do not know that I have any specific suggestions regarding the make up of the book other than those already mentioned ----- but before it goes to print I would like an opportunity of going over a draft of it here -----" "I agree with you about a multiplicity of small folders (being undesirable). On the other hand, body work as regards instructions and in fact in most other directions, has always taken second place, and I believe that by separating it, we will emphasize it, and deal with such matters as washing, care of upholstery, tops and hinges, etc. -----" I have purposely delayed dealing with the matter of the Instruction Book until the chassis began to assume definite form. But the 2nd Expl. chassis (from which as you remember we were going to make photographs for the book) is now well under way, so that presumably the first attack on the job should not be delayed any longer. It was proposed to take these photos from the bare chassis. For some of the illustrations this is desirable and indeed necessary, but for illustrations showing access for lubrication etcetera, I suggest that it would be better to take photos after the car is completed, for two reasons - (a) Better understood by the owner or driver. (b) Is an assurance to the public that these parts are free of access after mounting body, and is a guide to coachbuilder in providing free access to such parts. cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} | ||
