In closing I think it necessary to bear in mind the exact viewpoint of the chauffeur or owner towards the chassis in the U.S.

We have often stated that the chassis is regarded as secondary in importance to the comfort and appearance of the car as a whole. This may be misunderstood. It is rather better to say that the public have been educated to believe that the better the chassis the less they need worry about it.

They pay the R.R. chassis the greatest compliment therefore, in believing that if a few simple things are done to it, it will give perfect service, and even "improve with age".

This is the argument for confining the instructions as far as possible to essentials.
