filing X.3531. To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/MJ.17.8.29. With reference to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}1/E16.8.29. R.{Sir Henry Royce} suggested that we should try a Cadillac or Lincoln since the La{L. A. Archer} Salle was so unsatisfactory (See E1/M22.7.29.) We have tried and reported on the Cadillac. The object of these tests is to find a good sample of the eight cylinder vee engine. This is peculiar to the La{L. A. Archer} Salle, Cadillac and Lincoln. Therefore we have not much interest in the Graham Paige, which has a six cylinder engine. Incidentally we have tried one and its performance is very similar to the Chrysler. R.{Sir Henry Royce} has condemned the design of its silent third. We should therefore like to try a Lincoln.
