-2- of the gear box, then a torque tube is attached to the cross member. The rear axle is of the Banjo type, with hypoid gears. Springs are half eliptic, very long and broad. Hydraulic brakes are fitted. The chassis is supplied with four wings and running boards. An instrument board, also is supplied; this is supported by two oval cast tubular members from the cast aluminium dash board; this makes a very nice stiff job. There is a Jaeger clock fitted with a stop split second hand; this is a very nice neat fitting. The petrol tank holds 25 gallons. The total weight of the chassis is just over 40.0.0. The chassis frame looks to be extremely stiff and very strong. The general finish of the chassis is rough. There is quite an amount of chromium plating on the various fittings, including radiator, wheels, etc. Spare wheels are carried on either side of the chassis. There is rather a large aluminium casting bolted to the frame and so shaped to allow for the valance to be bolted on to this; this makes a nice neat finishing job. I noticed quite a number of small water leaks from the various screws in the cylinder block. The controls were unduly stiff and were binding on the boards. J.L.E. | ||
