48410 Order Office. w/s. OWB. F.G. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY/GWB. D/BP. Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY2/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 30.5.27. RE 47-AU. - SPECIAL SPRINGS - PT'S CAR IN AUSTRALIA. Since writing BY11/H.20.5.27. further discussion has brought other information to light in regard to the springing of the above car. The further information available has resulted in the springing being modified as follows:- a/- Front Springs. We have already fitted 1200 lbs and 1250 lbs front. These are stronger springs, and not stiffer, and are still satisfactory. b/- Rear Springs. In place of the special springs referred to in BY10/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 20.5.27. and BY11/H.20.5.27. we only need to fit standard 2000 lbs and 2100 lbs. springs. These springs will be relatively 15% stronger than what would be specified for Europe, but they are not to be of the stiffer type. From the foregoing it will be clear that special springs will not have to be ordered. My previous instructions should be cancelled. Pt. should be consulted by D/BP. as to whether he has springs in Australia to cover this new proposal. If not, a new pair of rear springs must be despatched to the above requirements. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} BY | ||
