Change Gear and Brake Mechn. (Not isolated Change Gear Type)

Tube for change gear mechn. bent due to accident, otherwise general condition good.
Hand brake countershaft G.83237 rusted in shaft.
Connecting link for pawl G.83207 bent probably due to accident. Pendulum lever G.83888 bent due to accident. Otherwise in good condition.

Servo Motor.

General condition good. Cams slightly indented by balls. Friction faces good. Thrust faces good.

Rear Brake Equaliser (Hand)

Brake equaliser lever G.83503 - rivets sheared due to accident. Quantity of water found underneath spindle G.84090 also in, lower cap nut.
The Brake ropes in front of rear axle have been subjected to the sandblasting effect of road conditions and several strands of wire have failed, also wear is taking place in the brake rope guide on rear axle. This should receive attention and was pointed out to Hdy.{William Hardy}

Rear Brake Inter Shaft.

Levers for hand and foot brake ropes twisted due to accident. Otherwise in good condition.

Rear Foot Brake Equaliser.

Spindle G.84094 bent and cracked due to accident.
Needle rollers and bearings good.
Ball race dirty and track indented by balls.
The felt washer which protects the ball race was missing.

Front Brake Equaliser.

Levers on frame to NS.{Norman Scott}4569 - quantity of foreign matter collected behind the lower oilite bush - spindle rusty.

Front Brake Inter Shaft.

General condition good. Oilite bushes O.K.

Servo Countershaft.

General condition good.

Prop.shaft.

Both universal joints broken due to accident. The Prop. Shaft has been completely pulled away from sleeve at the front end, sweated joint and taper pins sheared. The sliding joint was found in the closed position. The splines shews signs of picking up on driving side.
