2. Pistons - cont. All gudgeon pins lightly scored but otherwise satisfactory. Valve & Fittings. E.87424 - Exh. Valves. K.E.965. E.86783 - Inl. Valves. S/SLV. All Inlet Valves (S/SLV) show slight wear and pit marks on seats, while slight pit marks are also noticeable on exhaust valve (K.E.965) seats. No wear on stems or stretch has taken place. 10 outer springs are 2.8 - 4.8 lb. below drawing poundage. Top and bottom washer spring faces showing signs of wear. Tappets - Chromium stripped locally on four pads, remainder slightly pitted but otherwise satisfactory. Camshaft & Bearings. Camshaft - B6 Cam worn .003" on tip, this being the worst example. All other cams are slightly worn and scored on tips (see chart for wear). Camwheel - Condition good. Bearings - Nos. 3 & 6 upper-half bearings worn on locating flats due to fidgetting on tappet blocks. A piece of metal has also broken off back of No. 6 bearing. All bearings are easy fit in case and show signs of fidgetting. Auxiliary Drives. Idler Gear - Good condition Dynamo Driving Gear - Good condition. } See chart Crankshaft Pinion - Good condition } for backlash Distributor drive - " " Gear - in good condition Governor Drive Shaft - No. 2 Easy fit at ball race section, otherwise good Governor Arms - Worn in centre hole. Oil Pump. Cover & Casing - Bush lightly scored in bore. Gears - Both gears are bedding at pitch line only, while scoring occurs on shaft at bearing section, and in bore of driving and driven gears respectively. | ||
