Ethyl LEAD FUEL IN BENTLEY CARS.

With reference to C8/C29.1.37, my memo. was not quite completed. I had intended to refer to another remark in your memo. namely that there were only a few people affected.

K. {Mr Kilner} during January attended to 12 cases of misfiring due to the use of Ethyl, as follows:-

We have also looked through some Inspection Reports for January, and we find that sparking plug trouble was reported with:-

B.66.GA. Ford.
B.196.AH. Trehearne Thomas.

In addition, of course, we had a very large number of complaints regarding Rolls-Royce cars after our recommendation of Ethyl - in fact Cricklewood one morning had six cars there at the same time for the same trouble.

So that you can imagine how it gets round among drivers.
