x777 To Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} from Oy. c. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. Spm. [text crossed out] ----------------- Oy2/DM.{D. Munro}9.4.30. Re. 404 MR. Am. P.I Chassis with "Newmarket" body. Expl. Dept. has the weights of this car, empty with full tanks - Front 2681 lbs. ) Rear 2870 lbs. ) This agrees closely with our standard Total 5551 lbs. ) weights for the Newmarket type. 2700 - 2850 - 5550 lbs. Turbulent head. 4 1/4 compression. 14/52 axle. 20 x 7 tires. With regard to performance at low speeds, it appears to me that the joint between intake bend and manifold might bear looking at as low speed distribution does not seem good. The carburetter setting (particularly low speed jet) does not appear correct, may be weak. Understand it is proposed to put this car on traction dynamometer at which time the carburetter setting can well be checked. Oy. | ||
