Headlamp and Wing Movement. Memo. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/WJ.1.12.34 and Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}7/E5.12.34 were discussed. With regard to cars for England, it was agreed to get the front cross member on production as soon as possible but not to standardise the Wilmot bumper. Information had been given by JLE{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager} to W. that 50% of the Bentley cars were fitted with bumpers and Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} said instructions had been given to the department concerned that, wherever bumpers were ordered, they were to be of the Wilmot stabiliser type. Lead Bronze Bearings. As the result of the satisfactory test of these on 21-G-IV in France, it was decided that 6 sets should be put in hand with a view to sending 4 to Paris, 1 being for their Trials car and the others for cars which Sr. says are driven hard, and one set fitted to the cars run by Lp.{Mr Lappin} and En. It is understood that larger oil pumps will be required and that standard recommended oils can be used. Worst Features on Bentley Cars. It was agreed that these were as follows: 1. Danger in regard to front pivot pins. 2. Brake judders etc. 3. Insufficient charge for batteries. 20/25's. 21-G-IV Experimental car - this is still running on test in France. Re Higher Compression head for Peberesjsky car - this has been sent to Paris. | ||
