Notes of Meeting - 7

Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}21/E21.12.34 - 7 -

Rubber Engine Mounting and E3/HP.17.12.34, it was agreed that the light friction damper should be fitted to Wori's car and 20-G-IV and if found satisfactory and worth while immediate action should be taken to introduce it on production, the main object being not to lose our gain by the fitting of a rubber engine mounting.

Re trying to average our experimental results generally on a minimum of three cars before standardisation. This was discussed and it was agreed that we must try to make more use of cars which are being run under our own control, and it is really for the Experimental Dept. to watch this.

Worst Features on 20/25'st

1. Clutch slip.
2. Brakes squeak and inefficient. It is understood that 21-G-IV is fitted with an improved servo.
3. Steering heavy and joggles.

Easier Change Gearboxes. No developments since last meeting but the question of being able to operate the synchromesh gearbox from the steering column on a relay principle is still under consideration.

Dubonnet Suspension. This is fitted to 19-G-IV in France and it is still being experimented with.

Wilson Gearbox. The Experimental Dept. are fitting this up on one of their cars.

Wraith. The design work in connection with this is being pressed well ahead and it is still expected to have the first chassis ready by June 1935.
