R.R. 235a (500 T) (S.D. 408. 26-4-17.) Bm. 2/156/13. To Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} from EFC. EFC/AT20.11.17 RE X.3185.-PISTON RINGS IN SPECIAL METAL FROM Messrs. J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Stubbs. With further reference to the above we have now received a further report from Mr. Coverley and also a report from Mr. Hives concerning this, which, we think, will finally settle the matter. We give their remarks below. Mr. Coverley remarks - "we have finished two sets of piston rings in special metal supplied by Messrs. Stubbs. The hammering operation is the only one that is likely to present any trouble and on these rings we find about the same percentages of breakages as on standard. Mr. Hives will confirm this." (Sgd.) R.H.C. Mr. Hives remarks - "We can find no advantage or disadvantage in this metal." (Sgd) E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hives. EFC. | ||
