TO RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs}

We have had 12, FE30XC plugs on test on the Phantom bed, on units Nos 3 & 6. On each unit, the plugs have been in the inlet-side.

At the conclusion of 46 hrs 30 mins full throttle, & 21 hrs 15 mins light running, the plugs were removed for inspection. Although the gaps were set originally at .020", the majority had increased anything from .010" to .017", except two, one of which had no clearance at all, & the other had .067" due to excessive burning of the centre electrode. We pass these on to you for examination.
