Amended contract with an American company, reducing a chassis order and outlining revised terms.

RECD 1931 SEP 8 Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}1B/E2.9.31 This is to inform you officially that the contract placed with us for 200 chassis has been reduced to 125. Those remaining to be delivered at the end of June are under the amended contract called for to be delivered at the rate of 6 per calendar month. In August 1932 and in every subsequent year they have to place an order with us for a minimum number of 100 chassis, provided no order for left-handed chassis shall be for less than 75 chassis of any one standard. This means that they cannot ask for 50 left-handed 40/50 and ditto ditto left-handed 20/25's. If they fail to complete the amended contract referred to in Paragraph (1) or fail to carry out what is stated in paragraph (3) then we are free from all restrictions and conditions in America and can sell any of our products in the American territory without reference to them. The next point is that the American Company have agreed not in any event to recommence general manufacture and have given up forthwith their rights to our patents, drawings and to their officials entering our Works at Derby.
