[STAMP: RECEIVED 1931 OCT 5] Dear Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} I was very glad to receive your letter of Aug 30th. We are truly having a 'sticky' time here, & things seem to be getting worse rather than better. An occasional car is being sold, but I don't believe there are more than 10 or a dozen PII's in Owners hands. They seem to be very satisfactory & everybody is quite crazy about the suspension which seems to have hit the spot. Our people here still grouse a bit about the sluggishness of the engine at low speed, particularly in comparison with the American PI, but I don't believe owners have complained about it. [Margin note: has been seen] X There is one point that might be improved - the carburettor setting as the chassis are delivered is not by any means consistent. Some are fair & some are distinctly bad, & quite recently a really good one was found, which increased the 'peppiness' of the engine | ||
