A sample of this varnish, made by dissolving a supplied powder in Alcohol, which was received from Mr Brock several months ago, has now been submitted to some tests as follows. Some pieces of tin-foil 2" x 2.75" were covered for the tests. Time to dry. 10 to 15 minutes. Coating. Thickness of one coat .0005" The varnish flakes off if scraped fairly hard with a knife. Elasticity. The varnish cracked very locally when the foil was bent double each way two or three times. Heating. Placed on a heated metal plate, the varnish became sticky (Contd) Signed This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
