-2- Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}4/JH.26. The Light Production On one piston, there is a small blow hole visible in the bore of the gudgeon pin boss. Also on the same pistons, the webs in the crown are rough finish (slight spongy appearance) to the extent that small particles would break away and fall into the sump. The latter complaint is mentioned, because the finish at this point is not up to your usual standard, which as a general rule is very good. Perhaps you will let us have your comments on these points. The split skirt experimental pistons EW.2170 have arrived, and are at present running an initial test in an engine. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
