BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X3806 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}3/M10.1.30. CENTRALISED CHASSIS LUBRICATION. X.3806 X.840 X.1148 We send herewith N. sch. 3011. shewing an alternative method of conveying oil for the spring lubrication by means of an annulus inside the pins made by inserting a thin piece of tube. In case of the rear axle this can be done by increasing the length of the coil and slightly reducing its dia., but if such an arrangement is needed on the front axle it will be necessary we think to open out the hole in the spring eye. We anticipate however that the original scheme in the top of the pin will probably work. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
