56139 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.1/MA. 4th November, 1935. The Chief Superintendent, Royal Aircraft Establishment, South Farnborough, HANTS. For the attention of Dr. Bairsto. Dear Sir, With reference to the undersigned's visit to you last week we immediately went into the question of redesigning our ignition relay switch to avoid the interference existing by capacity coupling between the battery contacts and other parts of the switch. We now attach for your consideration a sketch showing the arrangement of these contacts in which you will see that we have placed the battery contacts and other connections in a screened piece isolated from the rest of the switch. We should be much obliged if you will examine this sketch and say whether you think it will be a big improvement over our existing switch from the point of view of radio interference and whether you consider any further modification is necessary to this sketch to avoid capacity coupling of any magnitude. Awaiting your reply, Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
