X4261 Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Wd {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} /Dnl {Mr Dunwel} /BH3.2.25. Please note that we have instructed the Stores this morning to hand to you 6 - 650 lbs Springs supplied by Messrs. Firth & Sons Ltd. of Sheffield. The six springs in question are intended for pumping test, and we understand that you will receive a note from By, with special reference to same. We are in receipt of a letter from Firth's this morning to the effect that they are afraid that the Spring eyes of the Mainplates are not close enough to size in the bore. This is because the operator of the grinding machine had experienced trouble in fitting these springs into the existing jigs, but did not report the fact until after the springs had left. We have mentioned this matter to BY, who thinks that this will not matter, although possibly it may mean that special bushes will be required. Wd. {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} | ||
