✓4261 HS. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c Wd {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} BY1/H. 3. 2. 25. Three pairs of front springs of the old 20 HP. type so far as centres are concerned, but to firths' own design from beginning to end, have been delivered, and the Order Office are arranging to send these in to the Experimental Dept. It is very important that the springs in question should be put on the 20 HP. bumping rig in order to obtain a comparison in regard to the increase of life which is obtained by the Firths' design over the existing type. It is an important matter, because if we run into trouble, as we may do, on the old type, by having too many fractures, it may mean that we would have to go to this design of spring for replacement work.
