X4613 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY/C1/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 9.1.26. 20 HP. CHASSIS. Scuttle Isolation. We should be glad if you would let us know the position of the stiffer "D" type steering-columns which have been instructed experimentally for the 20 HP. chassis. We have instructed two designs, viz. N.Sch.1979, consisting of the present box with a 1.750" diameter/outer tube, and N.Sch.2065. which comprises a new box with a 2" diameter tube. The reason we require this information is that we do not give any information in regard to either scuttle semi-isolation or otherwise, and for some time past Sales have been issuing a long typewritten description of a semi-isolation scheme to enable them to carry on until we can standardize the complete isolation scheme, which of course necessitates a self-supporting "D" type steering column. We would like to know what is the possibility of either of the above stiffer type steering columns being passed experimentally. BY/C. | ||
