RE MOUNTING OF SUB FRAME BODIES AT WORKS.

With reference to the complaint that water entered the scuttle via the scuttle isolation we would point out that although the body was driven in heavy rain when on 9PK. this trouble was not experienced. It has evidently arisen in the remounting of the body.

Dash boards are seldom if ever square with the axis of the chassis and the scuttle face, having been trued up to suit the dash of the first chassis did not match the second one. In these cases the dashboard should be adjusted to suit the scuttle so that the gap is approximately .375in. all round.

In the case in question the water quite possibly did not drip into its channel due to the gap being so wide on one side.

This is one of the nightmares of changing chassis.

We hope you will be able to remedy this case.
