re- Driving Signals.
E7/HP25.1.34.

I quite agree that there is no means whereby the driver is aware as to whether the signals are working properly or not except by the undesirable process of looking round. An illuminated telltale on the scuttle rail would undoubtedly relieve the driver of the necessity of having to look round to see that the signal was not only up but that at night time it was also illuminating itself.

The telltale light on the dashboard would I suppose be in series with that in the signal so as to immediately indicate to the driver if the signal lamp were not functioning. The one objection to that would be that there would be lamps of a different voltage in use in the signal and telltale to those throughout the rest of the car, & and we should probably have to include two or three spare lamps in all cars equipped with this device to replace casualties.

We certainly think this is a refinement which would be greatly appreciated by those who drive our cars.
