B. 60 Unit No. 3.

Continue as previous programme Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl{Len H. Swindell} 3/JH 6.2.39, with additional tests which Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed{J. L. Edwards} wishes to be tried, i.e. maximum pressure with extended combustion chamber head as against the existing best condition head.

No. 2 Test House.

Bentley S No. 19. Unit.

Complete tests on this unit, gears to be quietened, and generally tuned up to 100% job.

Give list of complaints also report and power curves of unit.

B. 11 No. 4 Unit.

Unit now fitted with new piston following exhaust valve failure of previous run.

All pistons fitted with new standard set of rings.

(1) After running in, check oil consumption at 4000 RPM over 2 hrs. Repeat until a stable figure is obtained.

(2) Fit a set of tin plated rings and repeat test (1)
