Repairs Dept.

Dear Sirs,

Chassis No. 23-PB.

This has now done about 850 miles since you fitted new cylinders and pistons to get over the ring trouble I kept having.

It is starting the same trouble again. At present it is slight, but is just as it used to be and I expect another 500 miles will see it as bad as ever.

I realise you have done what you can but you will admit the following is a very unsatisfactory record and very annoying to me :-

1. Overhaul at cost of £486.
2. Returned to Works at about 1,000 miles.
3. Ditto at 5,000 for ring trouble.
4. " " 6,000 " "
5. " " 7,000 " "
6. " " 8,000 " " and had new cylinders and pistons.
7. Wants returning at 9,000.

In all four times returned already in 9876 miles, of which incidentally 1360 miles have been covered in taking car to Derby and back. So for four visits I have had but 8516 miles of useful running, and nearly half of these have been run under irritating ring noise.

Now considering I never drive on the engine and always on the brakes, I tremble to think what would have been my fate if I used the engine as a brake.

As I say, the trouble at the moment is slight, but Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}
