CHASSIS. -4- Minute No. 7. Item 6 on Agenda. F.II. Is it clear we are going to bore out cylinders of 8S-JS{Mr Johnson's Secretary} and do the other special things previously agreed for 19-XX? Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said this will be done. 8. Item 7 on Agenda. Independent springing. Present position of design and experiments. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} said there was no further information from W.W. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} said it was important that we keep pushing on with this job. 9. Item 8 on Agenda. Radiators. Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}4/GR.{George Ratcliffe}25.1.33. Can I see samples referred to, also samples of shutters referred to in Minute 13 of last Conference Minutes ? Samples of loose shell chromium plated radiators were shown. After discussion it was decided not to make any change from present standard staybrite but to continue investigations into the possibilities of using loose shells of either chromium plate or staybrite. Further models of loose shells should not have the square flange to filler and the filler should be made shorter so as to give a squat appearance. 10. Item 9 on Agenda. Engine Mounting. Position re experiments with floating power. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} said a scheme is being worked on and it will be applied to Peregrine for comparison with diamond mounting. 11. Item 10 on Agenda. "Z" Series. When can we try car with "Z" series modifications, see HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}6/Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}28.2.33. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said a car can be tried next week and it will leave for 10,000 miles the week after. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} agreed that automatic control to the shock dampers be fitted after the first 5000 miles. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} agreed to order up 200 sets of material for 20/25 the same as "Z" Series. | ||
