In answer to your Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}2/NJ10.3.22, our inspector referred to in charge of the batteries is unfortunately absent through illness, but our reason for suggesting the cell case was cracked through overtightness, was because this was the only fault we could find and there were absolutely no signs that the battery had been dropped.

When we were informed that we could not claim for free-of-charge repairs we naturally sought the opportunity of utilising a cell case from one of the batteries we have recently dismantled.

We do not wish to pursue this matter further and have since received despatch instructions to return the battery to Lille Hall.
