The inspection of faulty Chloride batteries from various customer chassis, with decisions on repairs and returns.

FAULTY CHLORIDE BATTERIES. MR. McKinnon the Chloride representative has to-day inspected in conjunction with EFC. the Chloride batteries returned by customers as faulty. The following is a list giving the decision arrived at in each instance. No Doubt Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} will issue labels where it is necessary that the battery should be returned to the makers. (1) Chassis 26-LW - 5 - 2 volt Cells in 12 volt cases complete. It will be necessary to return these cells to the makers, a charge will be made for the repairs entailed. This charge is not quite what we expected, see our report memo' EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/CEP5/EC29.3.22. (2) Chassis 68-NH - 1 - 12 volt Battery. The Chloride Co., will send to us a new cell top and new lead washers to enable us to make this battery complete and fit for service. There is no necessity to return the battery to the makers and there was no mention made of charge for the new cell top and washers. There should certainly be no charge for the latter. (3) Chassis 57-GE - 1 - 2 volt Cell. Mr. McKinnon has asked if we will hold the above in abeyance until the remaining 5 cells have been returned by the Clyde Auto Co., see our EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/CEP3/EC11.3.22. (4) Chassis 139-AG - 1 - 12 volt Battery. It will be necessary to return this battery to the makers and there will be a charge for the repairs entailed. (5) Chassis 38-30. - 1 - 12 volt Battery.
