X. 4342/- "GOSHAWK" II SAMPLE STARTER MOTORS ORDERED FROM OUTSIDE FIRMS - LUCAS MODEL. Further to our memo BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /WER4/EF8. 7. 21., we are now in a position to give you full particulars of the special parts required for the Lucas Starter Motor. Please receive herewith two blue prints of the following L.O.P. and Outline. D.50203 Lucas Motor Modified A.880 Model - L.O.P. D.50203 " " " " - Outline. All the detail parts quoted on this L.O.P. are to be produced in our own works and despatched as soon as possible to Lucas Limited to enable them to assemble and test the motor before finally despatching to us. The O.O. are to be notified as soon as these parts are completed in order that they may issue despatch instructions. Please receive herewith two blue prints of each of the following drawings, also will SFT. {Mr Swift} and Mr.Broome receive one of each:- D. {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} 50208 Armature Shaft. (X) D. {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} 50209 Bearing Bracket. (X) Three prints of these are sent one of which should be handed to Mr. Walker (Pattern Shop). Blue prints of the remaining details quoted on the L.O.P. have previously been issued and it will be remembered that we suggested in our memo BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /WER4/EF8. 7. 21 that 5 sets of these details should be produced, one of these sets should be allocated to this sample Lucas Motor. Regarding the Armature Shaft D. {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} 50208 we would point out that the Driving End of this Shaft is identical with the Shafts you are producing for the C.A.V. and Smith Motors, also the Bearing Brackets for these three machines are identical, except that the rim of each varies slightly in size.
