nominal size, so that each maker appears to have an actual size of his own, and that the over-size tyres are simply tyres made more nearly correct to the actual nominal size of the tyre, thus the Continental over-size tyre is 34.5" in diameter and is, therefore, still ¼" less than what the standard tyre ought to be, but roughly speaking, we may say that an over-size tyre is merely a tyre made correct to the nominal dimensions of the standard tyre; this, therefore, makes the statement of the tyre makers sound rather absurd.

Mr. Royce's other objection to over-size tyres was that they were difficult to obtain in this country. We think now that this objection has been removed.

Glancing through a catalogue, we notice that the following firms supply over-size tyres:-
Continental, Stelastic, Victor, Clincher, Spencer-Moulton, Pirelli, Columb (Prowodnik), Mackintosh, and we believe the Dunlop are making over-size tyres now.

As to the wearing qualities of over-size tyres, standard Continental only average
