To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BJ. t235 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M25. 2. 27. 10-EX SHOCK DAMPERS. X. 8774 X. 235 X. 4426 Herewith we send print of N.sch.2370., shewing how we propose the Hartford shock dampers should be fitted to the front axle, in addition to the hydraulics. We understand that both shock dampers are already on the rear axle. The hydraulic shock damper is not altered either in itself or in position, but the connecting rod is shortened, and the sball end on the axle shifted. The fitting for the Hartford under the front wing stay socket requires the wing stays to be slightly altered, and though the wings are now made we believe will not present any difficulty. We have put this design up to the design committee, but as we believe you are expecting 10-EX very shortly, we send it to you in parallel so that you may see what we propose.
