Front No. Plate is carried in the center of the rear bar of the front bumper. On account of the necessity of changing No. Plates every year and the wide variation in size of plates in the different states, also variations in shape of the rear bumper bar, a mounting, as near as possible universal is required for this.

The mounting for the rear number plate is on the Rear lamp - see above.

Electrical Connections.
A-14435 Wiring Diagram Practical.
A-14510 Wiring Diagram Technical.

These two diagrams are identical with the exception that A-14510 shows separate connections for side and tail lamp and separate fuses, between fuseboard and control switch whereas A-14435 shows a single fuses and lead, the #2 terminal on the control switch being inoperative. This is a later modification which we have made, and has not been incorporated on A-14510. Its purpose is to keep the side lamps on while the head lamps are on.

These two diagrams indicate the electrical connections to the lamps and switches mentioned above.

4. Battery and Box - 2501 Std.
SS{S. Smith}/A-12009 and complete set of details.

This explains how the battery is held in a sheet metal box bolted on the side of the frame. The outside of the box is flush with and forms part of the external valance now standard in all coach-work. This box is designed for a body sill dropped 1" below the top of the frame - this construction is also standard.

The cables to the box are led through two holes cut in the frame side and lined on both sides with split bakelite micarta washers.

A number of Park Ward Bodies were used in which the coachwork extended down to the running boards. In these cases the standard battery box was not possible, so this one was designed to carry the battery in the R.H. Front Mudguard behind the spare wheel. At the same time the main switch was put back on the dashboard.
