We have been testing out the "Amal" Petrol pump which is similar to our own but has a piston fitted instead of a fabric. The object of the test was to see what advantages, other than durability, the piston could produce. The main result of the test was to show that the lubrication of the piston is not an easy matter. This particular pump does not draw from the reserve, with a dry pipe line, as well as our own. We can, however, more easily vary the compression ratio on this than on a fabric disc pump, and will therefore utilize it for air pumping tests. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} | ||
