Dear Mr. West,

Having just returned from a three day visit to Derby without having either the opportunity of a chat to you or of handing to you the enclosed plugs for test.

Their history is briefly this. One of our Outside Inspectors sent the representative to see me with a view to giving these plugs a test, but he was informed by me that I am not in a position here either to test or give an opinion on them, but that I would pass them on to Works for your attention. I made it quite clear to him that the mere fact of passing them on to you for test, placed you under no obligation to reply or give your opinion etc.etc.

For your information, I believe George Eyston used these plugs in the record breaking attempts at Salt Lake, Utah, and I have heard of them before from owners of our 4-litre, who say they give good results with these old type Bentley cars.

Sorry I did not see you when I was at W, as I had one or two things I wanted to discuss with you. However, better luck next time.
