To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} From G.W.H. Hotel de France, Chateauroux, FRANCE. 28.11.32. 2.PBR.II. RE. SILENCER. We have had the front end welded and at the same time I took the opportunity to take out the front baffle. The result is that on the road there is no difference with regard to booms or noise. It gives a clearer exhaust, which should be better for performance, but in this respect we were not able to appreciate it. (Roberts reports that during the run a slight wobble developed for a short period at 20 m.p.h. the road conditions being conducive to such.) The load on the cross steering tube is very light i.e. - 4 lbs. Could you inform us whether this is according to design, or has it dropped to this amount? RE. PLUGS. We have fitted the Lodge HD.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}15 you sent out, but we cannot detect any improvement over the set taken out. We have not as yet heard anything of the plugs you proposed to send out.
