We were not, however, content with this and we made a number of experiments with variously formed matrices, the best of which were called "bonded honeycomb radiators."
The adoption of this appears to have absolutely cured the leaking trouble.
One radiator was tested for 15 hours on the bumping rig without showing any signs of a leak, and a second radiator was tested for 24 hours, also without any leak.
Both these modifications have now been standardised, and are being proceeded with in the shops, and all replacements will have the new form of matrix, so that on future cars we feel quite confident in anticipating that we shall have no further trouble.
