28. Oil leak from carburetter.

There is a general tendency for a certain amount of oil to leak from the drain pipe (refer to Item No.15). This appears chiefly to take place when the car has been standing overnight or when starting up (after using the primer) next morning, and the engine then switched off.
We recommend that the same action should be taken with this as with No. 27.

29. Road dirt getting into Undershield under rear of the engine.

The front part of this undershield is not a close fit around the crankchamber, which we quite appreciate is not required, but some better protection is required to prevent direct entrance at this point, which has been experienced on test.
Mr. also suggests that some further guard could be fixed to the crankchamber to prevent the "direct feed" through the space referred to.
We recommend the same action as in the case of No.27.

Handwritten note: Baffle rivetted to crankcase feeling

30. Engine gear rattle when picking up under full power conditions about 15 mph. on battery ignition only.

This is a feature which is not prevalent on all "V" series cars, but there is a general tendency for this trouble to exist.
In discussing the matter with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} he expresses the view that as long as the trouble disappears when running on both ignitions, it should not be considered a serious point. We have not held up delivery of chassis in consequence of this.
We consider, however, this is a point about which we shall, sooner or later, receive complaints, and recommend some action should be taken in regard to this point as per No. 27.

31. Steering.

This is amongst the points already mentioned in CJ's memo for Works attention CJ12/E14.5.25.
Apart from the binding trouble, however, there is the general tendency for the steering to joggle when driving over rough roads.
In this respect we consider it is even worse than the 20-HP about which we have already had similar complaints.

Handwritten note: Steering Wheel shake
