PHANTOM SPRINGING.

We had begun to investigate the relative disposition of the weights, centre of gravity, relative stiffness of the front and rear springs on the 20HP., and New PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I, with a view to seeing whether there was any great difference between the two chassis which would lead one to think that an explanation might be found along those lines.

So far as we had gone there did not seem to be sufficient difference to lead us to think that we should learn much, and were rather afraid we should be wasting time, so stopped the investigation.

In view of what you say in your recent note on springing however we propose to resume this investigation, and if possible get some more information from Derby, the idea being to find out whether there is any difference in the balance of the two chassis causing the one to be more sensitive to the front springing than on the other.
