X7530 EFC. - from SFT.{Mr Swift} G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Roy{Sir Henry Royce} SFT.{Mr Swift}6/B.13.11.29. Re - Grouped Instrument Board Assembly. -------------------------------- In reply to EFC's memo (EFC3/AD.12.11.29), we are aware of this trouble and are doing our utmost to make arrangements for these instrument boards to be built in another shop, and we certainly will arrange to have them assembled away from the fitting place. We also found we could prevent a certain amount of dust and foreign particles getting into the instruments by cutting out some of the handling, and after discussions with all concerned, issued the attached note of which I now send you a copy. This is as much as we can do for the time being. There is one other point - we should be glad if ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} would make arrangements that we receive these instruments with the celluloid retaining covers instead of paper packings; as at present we have found only this morning some instruments already sticking, and some actually with the needles bent. This, we feel certain, could be eliminated if celluloid covers were used such as we now have fitted to the thermometer instruments. SFT.{Mr Swift} | ||
