Re: Steel Artillery Wheels with
Wellbase Rims.
The history of this matter from last June, is
as follows :-
June, 1926. 'S' were informed that 'W' were waiting for designs.
August, 1926. 'S' were informed by 'W' that designs had been received.
30th October, 1926. Correspondence took place re necessity of submitting sample sets to 10,000 miles test - 'BY' pointing out his reasons for considering this unnecessary.
3rd November, 1926. 'BJ' wrote fully to 'BY' on this subject.
5th November, 1926. 'BY' gave his reasons in still greater detail and recommended 50 hours test on the bumping rig, equivalent to 10,000 miles on French roads.
10th November, 1926. 'BJ' agreed this suggestion, coupled with 2 days strenuous road test.
November, 1926. Correspondence took place between 'BJ' and 'W' regarding best deliveries Dunlop's could promise of sample sets and on the 4th November, 'W' were informed that Dunlop's were promised both sets end-November.
13th December, 1926. 'W' advised 'S' that sample sets of 20 HP. wheels had been delivered and sent to the Experimental Department.
30th December and 10th January, 1927. 'BY' wrote recommending 10,000 miles test not necessary.
17th January, 1927. 'S' replied pointing out what is suggested under 10th November - i.e. that 'BJ' had
