Dear Sirs,

We have the pleasure to enclose herewith a sample of our latest Oil Control Ring. This Ring is an advance upon our well known "Wypa" registered Scraper Ring.

This new Ring, which we designate our "Slotted Wypa", provides positive means for the escape of surplus oil, and, at the same time, permits of ample bearing surface to be left on the working face of the Ring. This is a very important point, as the majority of Scraper Rings on the market to-day sacrifice the life of the Ring by cutting the bearing surface down to the minimum. As a result, the Ring soon wears and ceases to function.

Our Slotted Ring overcomes the difficulty of oil surplus by the special section of the oil groove, which you will note, is undercut in such a manner as to leave approximately 75% of the original bearing surface intact. In addition, the design is such that even when wear takes place, the fine edge which breaks up the oil film is maintained, and, therefore, the Ring is efficient during the whole of its working life. This feature is quite unique, and is the reason why the Ring is meeting with such success in every direction.
