To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} From G.W.H. 84087 Hotel de France, Chateauroux, FRANCE. 4.12.32. 2.PER.II. .RE CONDITION OF CLUTCH. The surfaces of the pressure plates were slightly scored. The spigot of the clutch shaft in the ball race in the flywheel, was found to be rusty. You are aware that no provision is made to oil this part. The bearing surface of the ring G.100474 was, when first taken down, found to be rusty. We smeared grease on it before building it up the last time, and it was O.K. when taken down today. The end plate G.100486 was concave. It is apparently being bent between the bolts by the spring load, probably when disengaging. No other fault was noticed. G W Hancock G.W.H. | ||
