On cars carrying two spare wheels at the side - that is to say, under our new agreement most of our maximum bodied cars - the normal standard bonnet will be required.

On the continental touring saloon we think the deepened bonnet carried down below the top of the frame side member should be standardised. This bonnet of course would be supplied to customers ordering the standard chassis if requisitioned with the order.

We understand you are already supplying these drop sided bonnets, and that there is a little criticism of the way they are cut out to clear the chassis frame. We would like you to cut out the bonnet side to fit round the frame at the section of intersection between the plane of the bonnet and the chassis frame. This will be as in sketch (1) on the near side, but on the off-side it will be necessary to cut the bonnet away closely round the steering rocker shaft. At the moment coachbuilders are having to weld a piece into our bonnet to fill in the angular corner.

No doubt you will arrange to incorporate this modification
