Matthews How many of these pumps have we run. What are the results of W. Bell's tests? Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} E.G./HP. 22.2.35. c.c. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} Increased Capacity of Oil Pump - LeC.4288. Standardisation Sheet X.238. Referring to the above standardisation sheet, the above pump we have issued to LeC.4288 is fitted with helical gears, and will accordingly require testing to make sure that it stands up satisfactorily to the end thrust of these gears. The larger oil pump that was fitted to 21-G-4 was reported several times as being noisy and we presume it was fitted with straight toothed gears. We are, therefore, signing the above sheet subject to the test of the modified pump being satisfactory. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
