COPY 28, Bryanston Court, Upper George Street, W.1. February 1st 1938. Messrs.Bentleys Ltd., Conduit Street, W1. Dear Sirs, I am in receipt of your letter of the 29th ult. My car came back from you on Wednesday the 19th ult., after a complete overhaul and on my bill for same was an item of 18/6d for "Changing the oil", which seemed rather an extravagance, as I had personally, only the week-end before filled up with oil to the full capacity, and had travelled at the maximum only 54 miles. I am sorry to say therefore that when my car was with you you could tnot have conscientiously worked on the engine or there would have been no leakage. I am most dissatisfied because, as you know, I have spent a considerable amount of money on the car. The only explanation I can see is that there must have been a leakage in the oil system, or if a 4 1/4 takes a gallon of oil to do 48 miles then Bentleys had better look into the matter. Hoping to hear from you soon. Yours faithfully, (Sd) S.G. de Mier. | ||
