PROGRESS MEETING.

REPORT FOR 6th. JUNE AT WHICH, BY, MR. SWIFT, MR. HIVES, MR. WILLIS, & BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} WERE PRESENT.

Rotor for Distributor E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 17771.

The Production Drawing Office desire to correct the angular location of the slot on the Rotor. This was agreed.

Hot Air Elbow to Carburettor. U. 1437

The shop practice has always been to make this of brass and to swet the hot air pipe. The drawings and supervision sheets quoted metal with pipe to be brazed. It was agreed that the drawings and supervision sheets should be altered to conform with shop practice.

Tappet Top Lever. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 13714.

Mr. Swift reported to the Meeting that he had overcome the difficulties reported at the meeting for May 26th., and was now satisfied that he could manufacture these parts to the original design. The six sets in which the machining of the inside of the stamping had been partially omitted will not therefore be proceeded with.

Magneto Bedplate. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 17220

The Production Drawing Office desire to add to the drawing a drilled hole in casting to allow for the assembly of the strap pin. This was agreed.

Lock Washer for Magneto Brake. U.805.

The Works desire that the rectangular slot already shown in this part should be altered to a round hole with four corners drifted out to avoid the hand filing operation and also to reduce slightly the thickness of the drifted portion. This was agreed.

Distributor Casing. E.17732.

Mr. Swift brought forward this piece, and pointed out the difficulties experienced in the shops in machining and finishing the part to drawing, and also raised the question of quality of external finish necessary from the appearance point of
